Allpro Artisans Painting and Remodeling, formerly J. J. Amicone Painting, was started back in 1976 by Joseph Amicone. Joe had worked for the White Motor Company for many years, but when he learned the company was moving south, he decided to remain in the Cleveland area instead of uprooting his family and relocating with the company. Joe grew up in Bedford, OH, and later moved to Northfield, where he started his new painting contracting company.
J. J. Amicone Painting started small, but quickly grew into one of the best and most reliable painting companies in the area. We have done work for large commercial companies like Kraftmaid Cabinets, U-Store-It, and Starbucks Coffee. We have worked for many new home builders: national builders like Pulte Homes and many local home builders like Colonial Forest (now Legacy Builders), Woodbridge Homes, and A&M Home Builders to name a few. We work for many local and out-of-state general contractors like JC Construction, Independence Construction of Virginia, and JLI, Inc.
Local residential customers have made up anywhere from 40 to 70 percent of our business in any given year depending on the economy and how the commercial and housing markets are doing. Serving local residents is the backbone of our business and we enjoy transforming our customer’s homes into something they can really enjoy and be proud of. We provide interior and exterior painting, aluminum siding refinishing, deck and fence refinishing, wallcovering installation, faux finishes, and custom painted murals. We have only professional painters on staff and have two artists on staff to accomplish any and all creative projects.
In the year 2000, Joe began to take a less active roll in the company and passed on most of the day to day business affairs of running the company to Mike Fechner, who had worked for the company for seven years up to that point and had worked in the home-building and remodeling fields prior to that. Mike took over all estimating duties, bookkeeping and office chores, as well as continuing to paint for the company. In 2007, Joe began a well-deserved retirement and Mike purchased the business, continuing to build the strong customer base and provide quality work at fair prices.
In 2010, Mike and his wife Maria Fechner changed the name of the business to Allpro Artisans Painting and Remodeling. We felt this new name better reflected the professionalism with which our company approaches all of our projects, and also tells of our newly expanded remodeling services available to our customers including drywall, carpentry, tile, plumbing, and electrical work.
Allpro Artisans Painting and Remodeling has been and always will be committed to total customer satisfaction and quality work. We are never happy with a job unless the customer is happy with the job we’ve done and we will do whatever it takes to get the job done right. Thank you for reading this quick history of our company.
